Photography

These photos have been taken and edited by John Nash.

John grew up in a photographic family.  His father was an excellent amateur portrait photographer and John spent many hours alongside him in his studio and darkroom.  John also had the privilege of meeting some of the greats of the day, among them, Jimmy Jarche and Bill Brandt.

Throughout his career in learning and development, John maintained his great passion for photography and when he retired, spent several years teaching the subject.

John particularly likes the power of black and white and his preferred genres are people in performance, architecture and landscapes.

John and his wife Dee, split their time between the beautiful coastal town of Weymouth in Dorset and “Les Vaux”, a hamlet of our beloved local village, Brigueil-le-Chantre.

When people ask him what equipment he uses – John’s answer is “my eyes”!
